TEMPORARY DISABILITY
Temporary Disability, in an admitted case, is paid by the workers compensation insurance company to you while you are unable to work and your doctor declares you temporarily disabled.
If your wages qualify, you may receive up to $1172.57 per week for injuries in 2017.

Under workers compensation law, in an admitted case, the insurance carrier is to provide all treatment which is reasonable and necessary to cure or relieve the effects of your injury. This includes prescription medication and transportation to and from the doctor's offices. If your doctor believes that you need assistance to perform your activities of daily living, you may also be entitled to assistance in your home.

Depending on your date of injury, if your doctor opines that you are unable to return to your usual and customary duties at your pre-injury job, then you may be entitled to a Supplemental Job Displacement Benefit (SJDB) voucher for each claim of injury. You may also be entitled to a Return to Work Supplemental Benefit.

Extraordinary Benefits of Workers Compensation
LC132(a) discrimination
If your employer discriminated against you by taking adverse actions against you because you filed a workers compensation claim, then you may be entitled to receive up to $10,000.00 and you may be compensated for back wages.

serious & willful
If your employer modified the machinery, provided inadequate training, provided faulty operating instructions, provided unsafe vehicles, and/or provided an unsafe working environment, then you may be entitled to benefits pursuant to a Serious and Willful filing. SUBSEQUENT INJURIES FUND (sif)
Under certain conditions, if you previously suffered a work injury or you had a medical condition for which you had a permanent disability before suffering your current work injury and your current overall disability is greater than 70%, you may be entitled to increased compensation through the Subsequent Injuries Fund.

Third party claims
Not technically a WC benefit
If while you were working, a person who was not your co-employee negligently caused your injury, you may have a second civil liability lawsuit. Some instances in which this situation may occur is when you are injured in an auto accident, falling on uneven sidewalks, using defective machinery or equipment, and/or falling at work locations if you work for a temp agency, and many more.
