NEUROLOGICAL INJURIES / CLAIMS
DID YOU SUFFER A NERVE INJURY AT WORK FROM AN ACCIDENT OR TOXIC EXPOSURE?
You may have a work injury..you need a tenacious lawyer fighting for you.
THE MECHANISMS OF NEUROLOGICAL INJURIES ARE VARIED
The brain, spinal column, nerve roots, and the periphery nerves can all play a part in a neurological injury. Generally, there is some damage along the nerve paths causing some type of dysfunction. The dysfunction may be physical or it may be emotional.
Direct Neurological Injury:
A direct neurological injury generally results from a sudden severe injury to either the brain, the spinal cord, the nerve roots, or the system of nerves running through out the body. Examples might be if a worker fell and hit his head either on the ground or on objects while falling. Or if equipment and /or materials fell and hit a worker on his head or any number of vulnerable places on his body.
Gradual Neurological Injuries:
Gradual neurological injuries can result from a toxic environment and by ignoring the symptoms of a mild neurological injury upon the initial insult.
The mild symptoms that are often overlooked or are attributed to a different medical condition are (and this is not an exhaustive list):
Altered mood states Irritability
Euphoria Sudden mood changes
Excessive tiredness Feelings of hostility
Anxiousness Depression
Memory problems Concentration difficulties
Headaches Blurred vision
Feelings of drunkenness Dizziness
Slowness Loss of libido
If you have one or more of these symptoms it does not mean that you do have a neurological injury but it does mean that you might. Whether you have a neurological injury and whether that neurological injury is a result of your work environment, work accident, or work exposures must be determined by a doctor qualified to make those determinations.
If you have any of these symptoms and believe that those symptoms may be the result of a work accident or work exposures to toxins and/or chemicals, you may have a work injury. A doctor provided under the workers compensaion laws can make those determinations. If you want to pursue this inquiry, then we invite you call us.
